WHAT KIND OF SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
We provide health care coverage exclusively to cats. We offer two plans to meet your individual needs. Our 9 Lives plans are our base plans and are $9.99/month (plus tax) for cats ages 0-9 years and $11.99/month (plus tax) for cats ages 10 years and older. Our 9 Lives+ Wellness plans are our prime plans, and are $27.99/month (plus taxes) for cats ages 0-9 years, and $32.99/month (plus taxes) for cats ages 10 years and older. We also offer annual pricing options should you wish to not have recurring monthly charges.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It’s really very simple! You choose the plan based on the type of coverage you want and the age of your cat and then subscribe. There are no annual contracts or commitments, and you can cancel at any time. If your subscription is active, so is your coverage.
WHAT IS COVERED?
We offer two plans to meet your individual needs.
Our 9 Lives plan is our base plan and provides coverage for accidents and injuries. It includes diagnostics, procedures, and medication to treat clinically diagnosed accidents and injuries. It does not include regular health maintenance (ie. flea/tick/worm/parasite treatment, annual check ups, etc.). Our 9 Lives+ Wellness plan is our prime plan, which provides coverage for accidents, illness and wellness. It includes diagnostics, procedures, and medication to treat both diagnosed and undiagnosed accidents and illnesses. It also provides coverage for wellness visits and regular health maintenance (ie. flea/tick/worm/parasite treatment, annual check ups, etc.).
***Please note, none of our plans provide coverage for spay/neuter, vaccines, or dental at this time.
IS THERE A DEDUCTIBLE?
Our 9 Lives and 9 Lives+ Wellness plans have a deductible of $99 (taxes included) per incident. The deductible is applied per accidental injury and/or illness. This means that any injury or illness that requires multiple vet visits would have it applied only once. Annual exams under the 9 Lives+ Wellness do not have the deductible applied. For those that add an Umbrella plan, the deductible is $0 for all claims.
WHAT IS THE ANNUAL LIMIT?
The annual limit for our 9 Lives plan is $1,999 (plus taxes) per year. The annual limit for our 9 Lives+ Wellness plan is $2,999 (plus taxes) per year. The Umbrella plan gives you an additional $1,999 (plus taxes) per year per Umbrella. This means, you can purchase as many Umbrella plans as you want, to increase your limit to the desired amount.
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE PURRPLAN OVER OTHER COMPANIES?
We’re different than the rest! We don’t follow the norms; we set them. We're part of the new economy, which means we move faster, make decisions faster, and have less red tape bogging down the process. We have no one to report back to but ourselves, which means that we can focus exclusively on you (the catsumer) and what you want, instead of focusing on hitting targets to keep big corporate investors happy.
WHY EXCLUSIVELY CATS?
Cat’s rule and dogs drool! JK. To be honest, dogs tend to have much higher health costs than cats and most other programs use the income from cat customers to reduce the cost of dogs. After all, when's the last time you saw a cat chasing a car?
COULDN’T I JUST PUT MONEY ASIDE EVERY MONTH TO SAVE FOR UNEXPECTED VETERINARY COSTS?
You could, but it would take you over 16 years to save enough money for the limit of protection that our base program provides. We give your cat that protection every year.
IF MY CAT IS YOUNG AND HEALTHY, DO I NEED PROTECTION?
Coverage does not extend to any conditions your cat may have prior to enrollment. Therefore, in order to benefit from the best protection, it is best to subscribe while your cat is in good health.
WHAT CAN AFFECT MY MONTHLY COST?
Nothing will ever change your monthly cost.
WILL YOU DROP MY COVERAGE IF MY CAT GETS OLD OR SICK?
No! We are here for your cat's entire life, and our protection is here to help when your cat becomes sick.
WHICH VETERINARIAN CAN I GO TO?
We would expect that you go to the Veterinarian you would normally visit but we are more than happy to recommend one in your area if necessary.
ARE ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES COVERED?
Yes! Several alternative or complementary therapies are covered provided they are prescribed by your veterinarian.
ARE REGULAR VETERINARY CHECK-UPS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN MY CAT’S COVERAGE?
Yes, you must arrange and pay for Your Cat to have an annual wellness exam, and any treatment normally recommended by a Vet to prevent an illness or accidental injury.
WHEN DOES COVERAGE BEGIN?
Coverage begins almost immediately. Accidental injury coverage begins 48 hours after enrollment, and sickness begins 7 days after enrollment. These waiting periods start at 12:01 AM the day after purchase, and are to ensure coverage is not provided for conditions existing prior to enrollment.
WHAT COUNTS AS AN ACCIDENTAL INJURY?
An accidental injury is a sudden occurrence causing bodily harm such as a fall, vehicle accident, or accidental poisoning as some examples.
WHAT COUNTS AS AN ILLNESS?
Any change in your cat's usual state of health or any sickness, disease, defects and abnormalities, including defects and abnormalities your cat was born with.
WHAT IF MY CAT HAS A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION?
As mentioned previously, we do not accept or cover any vet fees for any pre-existing conditions, however that does not mean you cannot enroll your cat for protection against anything else that could happen.
HOW DO I MAKE A CLAIM?
It’s very simple! Submit your claim through our Claim App, or download a Claim Form and complete the form as prompted. Have your vet fill out the rest and email the form with the medical records to email@example.com. We'll get back to you within 72 hours once we recieve your submission.
HOW IS A CLAIM PAID?
We reimburse our customers directly. You pay your bill to the veterinarian and we reimburse you through e-transfer.
HOW MUCH IS REIMBURSED?We reimburse you 100% of the costs, up to your annual limit.
HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM?
You have 30 days from the initial visit to your veterinarian to file a claim regardless of whether the treatment for your cat has been completed.
WHAT IS YOUR ADDRESS/WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Our corporate goal is to minimize as many company expenses as possible to be able to offer as much as possible back to our customers. As such, we all work from home based offices, but our registered corporate office is: 20 Cameron St., W., PO Box 40, Cannington, ON, L0E 1E0. We currently share space here and have room for meetings when necessary. Being virtual puts us in a better position to respond quickly to our customers and offer more affordable coverage.
